My school day looks more like a prison sentence. There's a maths test later, and I'm rubbish at maths. I've even left my English homework on the kitchen table and that means trouble with Mr Tinns. School can be a difficult and stressful place for a child, and sometimes they just need a little bit of help to manage it all. That's where Arty comes in. He's an inner coach, here to help each child achieve their very best. Offering children a creative way of helping to manage their own worries, Arty will help show children that they're not alone in their struggles and that they always have choices, even when stuff happens that they don't like. With practical guidance for parents and teachers on how to use the book and specific coaching activities, it is perfect for children aged 8-12, especially those who have a fear of failure.

In a rapidly moving world where so many of our day-to-day activities are now online, it has become essential to adapt coaching processes in order to better suit clients’ circumstances and needs. Electronic coaching (e-coaching) is an inevitable development for every professional who coaches, mentors, teaches, supervises, guides or helps people in their jobs. The book is underpinned by a theoretical framework that introduces a new model of people development (the ABC model), inspired by Graham Alexander’s GROW model, and a new text-based coaching method inspired by Brown and Levinson’s politeness theory. E-coaching is practical in its approach, with explanations on safeguarding the security and privacy of your clients, how to calculate rates, managing expectations and other important aspects of coaching online. The first English-language text available on e-coaching, this book presents a unique combined approach of method and technique, supplemented with a sample e-coaching programme. A concise extension of the business classic Topgrading, targeted to sales managers Brad Smart?s Topgrading has sold more than 150,000 copies since 1999, making it the definitive book for executives who want to hire, coach, and retain top talent. Now Smart has teamed up with Greg Alexander, who used Topgrading to radically improve his sales force at EMC. In Topgrading for Sales, they have boiled down the key Topgrading ideas to a pithy 112 pages while focusing on the unique needs of sales managers and sales directors. Great sales forces don?t just depend on strategies? they depend on hiring the best possible reps. But surveys show that about half of all hires and promotions put an underqualified person in the wrong job. No wonder the average tenure for sales managers is only nineteen months. Topgrading for Sales takes the guesswork out of hiring by teaching readers how to interview systematically for A-level talent instead of relying on hunches and prejudices. It also shows how to coach B-level reps to turn them into A-players and how to weed out C-players before they do too much damage.

And a couple of impact players that could take the team deep into the playoffs–even the Super Bowl. The potential is there, but will the team come together? Will they bounce back if they lose a couple of early games? Are they tough enough to play through the injuries and still perform at the championship level? Every NFL team that’s serious about winning a title has to answer those questions. And so does every husband-and-wife team that’s serious about a Super Bowl Marriage. Super Bowl Marriage tells the stories of some of the NFL’s most dramatic games, toughest players, and creative coaches–then skillfully links their lessons to life’s greatest team sport--marriage. Test your knowledge of the Super Bowl-era and learn how Bill Walsh, John Elway, Brian Urlacher, and others can help your marriage team win the championship game. Rules for developing talent with disciplined, deliberate, intelligent practice We live in a competition loving culture. We love the performance, the big win, the ticking seconds of the clock as the game comes down to the wire. We watch games and cheer, sometimes to the point of obsession, but if we really wanted to see greatness—wanted to cheer for it, see it happen, understand what made it happen—we'd spend our time watching, obsessing on, and maybe even cheering the practices instead. This book puts practice on the front burner of all who seek to instill talent and achievement in others as well as in themselves. This is a journey to understand that practice, not games, makes champions. In this book, the authors engage the dream of better, both in fields and endeavors where participants know they should practice and also in those where many do not yet recognize the transformative power of practice. And it’s not just whether you practice. How you practice may be a true competitive advantage. Deliberately engineered and designed practice can revolutionize our most important endeavors. The clear set of rules presented in Practice Perfect will make us better in virtually every performance of life. The “how-to” rules of practice cover such topics as rethinking practice, modeling excellent practice, using feedback, creating a culture of practice, making new skills stick, and hiring for practice. Discover new ways to think about practice. Learn how to design successful practice. Apply practice across a wide range of realms, both personal and professional The authors include specific activities to jump-start practice Doug Lemov is the best-selling author of Teach Like a Champion A hands-on resource to practice, the rules within will help to create positive outliers and world-changing reservoirs of talent.

A behind-the-scenes look at the high-pressure lives of NFL head coaches Coaching Confidential chronicles a year in the life of an NFL head coach. But not just one head coach. A composite portrait is drawn through interviews with at least 20 current and former head coaches (including Super Bowl winners such as Bill Parcells, Tom Coughlin, Jimmy Johnson, Tony Dungy, Sean Payton, Mike Shanahan, Dick Vermeil, Mike Holmgren, Brian Billick, and Joe Gibbs), taking us through the professional and personal challenges of the job. This book covers the draft, free agency, big trades, training camp, family crisis, player troubles, coaching relationships with members of the staff, coach-owner dynamics, rivalries, Xs and Os, the playoffs--all the way to the Super Bowl. Just getting to Sunday is almost a relief for NFL head coaches. It's during that three-hour window 16 days a year when they can simply concentrate on what they do best, which is trying to win football games. But the job is, of course, much more than that.

Super Spiritual Stories of a Great Grandmaster

Then I looked him in the eyes and said. "Remember this Tommy. There is always something. If you can,t find it just know there is no such thing as bad luck or accident. All is Gods will. There is always something. Ask God. Know always, God helps." Yes, I know the answer to Tommys question. I accepted it initially without doubt. Gods heavenly spirit flows out into us all, with the truth. The Mystical experience will lead to the making of a new generation of Great Grandmasters. They will be Christ bearers, to the world in the future. Tommy must carry on. It was so ironic that Tommys father had been a top-notch policeman. Then Tommy had to watch his mother being killed by a policeman. What meaning, psychic or otherwise could I get from it? I guess the answer to that might lie in the fact that God is concerned about making our souls perfect. Tommy would need to gain the faith to make his limitations become possibilities and turn his fears into unconditional love. Years ago, I was training Tommys father, in martial arts and he asked me to ride with him from midnight till 8 AM. He was the only sheriffs deputy in the county, of 500 square miles, on the road. It was not like today when you dont pull up on a dangerous situation without backup. Bar fights, domestics, robberies, and what ever, you responded to alone. The tactics that Tommys father used, would get him fired today. We got a call that a boy had a gun and was shooting up a small town that had no police protection. Tommys father turned on his flashers and started to respond to the call. I could tell by the way he was driving that he was using his intuitive talents. All at once he hit the brakes, and pulled the car to the side of the road. He said. "You drive." I was not a sheriffs deputy and did not have any right to drive that vehicle. Tommys father wouldve been fired if the Sheriff found out. I drove, and he meditated. I knew Tommys father was heading for trouble not just by disobeying the rules, but also if anything went wrong, no one would believe his story. Tommys father would never be able to explain that he was using his sixth sense to link with the higher realms of perception, and God Almighty. He must have read my mind. He said to me. "I have to try to save that boys life! I am receiving an energy that is higher in vibration and totally spiritual. God Almighty has a reason for that boy to live." He picked up my coat that was laying in the back seat and put it on, covering his uniform. The boy was last seen on Main Street in the downtown area. Tommys dad directed me to turn and drive towards the school. As I did it came over the radio. Someone shot back at the kid, from an upstairs window. The kid ran towards the school. As we got close to the school Tommys father jumped out of the cruiser and ran towards the playground area. I followed on foot. I know that most people will not believe what Im about to say. Before the end of the story youll understand how this happened, because Tommy is so much like his dad, in reaching into the depths of the unknown. The boy pointed the gun at Tommys father. Tommys father said. "Im on your side. I come to fight the evil." The boy raised the gun pointing it. He fired over Tommys fathers left shoulder. Tommys father was walking towards the kid and did not stop. He said in a loving voice. "You got it! Put the gun down, your safe." Tommys father was staring into the eyes of the kid as he continued to walk towards him. The boy handed the gun to him. Tommys father placed his hand on the kids shoulder. I could see the healing energy of Ki or Spirit transfer to the young boy. We walked back to the cruiser, and the boy said, crying. "I dont know what happened. All I
